Asia Society Policy Salon Tokyo is honored to host Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike on July 25, 2022. Governor Koike was elected as the first female governor of Tokyo in 2016, and her fearless, determined and visionary leadership has elevated Tokyo to become one of the most admired global mega cities.
In this session, Governor Koike will share her insights and discuss her vision: Building upon the legacy of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, with the principles of diversity, inclusion and sustainability at the heart; Tokyo is working toward realizing not only a Sustainable Recovery post Covid-19, but creating a city in which everyone can reach their full potential. Furthermore, Governor Koike will explore what is needed for Tokyo to overcome the challenges it faces and to be a thriving city; attractive to all the world.
Governor Koike brings a wealth of experience, from being a leading newscaster, to Lower House politician, to Defense Minister, to Tokyo Governor. She is a true Game Changer and Asia Society honored her with that award in 2019.
