Event Details

What is happening in India right now? India is projected to be the fastest-growing economy among the G-20 countries in 2024, and it is well on track to overtake Japan and Germany as the third-largest economy by 2027. Its rapid economic development has sparked profound socio-economic changes, leading to the emergence of a new India.

For the first time, India is seeing women amass more wealth than men, signaling a major shift in gender dynamics and financial empowerment. Furthermore, Indian professionals educated in local universities are now running most of the nation's largest companies, highlighting the success of home-grown talent. Additionally, more than 250,000 individuals are reporting annual taxable earnings exceeding ₹10 million, underscoring the rapid expansion of India's affluent class.

Join us at Asia Society Japan for an exclusive session with Saurabh Mukherjea, founder and CIO of Marcellus Investment Managers as we gain insights into the current developments in India and discuss what really is happening on the ground. We will also discuss our reactions to the Indian general election, and its socio-economic implications.
